Second Harvest Food Bank’s 48-Hour Virtual Race to End Hunger is an online challenge that pits Silicon Valley companies against each other to raise money in support of Second Harvest Food Bank – an organization feeding nearly a quarter million people in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties each month.

From November 13th to the 15th, members of #TeamVtas in the Bay Area were invited to make online donations through the Veritas food drive page. Participation rates were incredible, surpassing 2017 efforts by more than 229%, raising $12,156; funds that will provide over 24,000 meals for local neighbors in need.

Special thanks also go to volunteers who helped drive the effort at each campus: Lynda Larsen in Santa Clara and Lourdes Sanchez in Mountain View. And all employees who donated will be able to leverage the Giving Station so that your donation goes further — each dollar donated to the virtual race in support of Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties will be matched by Veritas.

It is efforts like participation in the 48-Hour Virtual Race to End Hunger that make #LifeAtVeritas uniquely satisfying – especially during the holiday season.
