October 11th is National Coming Out Day, and Veritas Technologies is a proud supporter of this and other events dedicated to inspiring awareness of causes meaningful to LGBTQ communities.

At Veritas, diversity encompasses all forms of human differentiation – the details that make us individuals. While "diversity" is often used in reference to race, ethnicity, and gender, we embrace a broad definition on #TeamVtas, addressing the aspects of each employee that make them unique, including diversity of ideas, perspectives, and values.

A diverse workforce is an asset for a company, contributing to shared awareness and understanding when pursued with intention. Our goal at Veritas is to build an environment where all employees are valued.

In support of this charge, we’ve established seven Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) with more than 38 chapters across the company’s global offices. Veritas ERGs promote a culture of inclusion, while providing a forum for minorities to be empowered to achieve their full potential.

Pride at Veritas Empowered (PAVE) ERG teams across our offices are devoted to educating the company and community about LGBTQ issues — a large part of our success in identifying and retaining top diverse talent. All Veritas employees are invited to join or open a PAVE or any other ERG locally. Veritas PAVE events have included fundraising and networking opportunities among Veritas staff, as well as community-focused efforts.

On June 24th of this year, our Bay Area PAVE ERG sponsored the largest Pride event in the world — the San Francisco 2018 Pride celebration and parade – and Veritas staff marched alongside colleagues, family, and friends to represent the company and share messages of inclusion.

And on October 13th, our PAVE Heathrow Florida chapter is participating in Orlando’s annual Pride Parade – an event featuring more than 100 companies marching in unison to span a 1-mile route through downtown Orlando.

Given our shared dedication to awareness, diversity, and inclusion, #LifeAtVeritas is good.
