Keynote Presentation
On the first day of Nutanxi .NEXT Peter Grimmond, Vice President Technical Sales EMEA presented "Transforming Enterprise Data Protection and Resilience for the Nutanix Platform". During his presentation, he discussed how enterprises are evolving through the adoption of digital transformation and the utilisation of hyper-converged infrastructure solutions. According to IDC, Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) adoption is rocketing: total HCI spend was $1.2B in the first quarter of 2018, representing a 76.3% year over year growth. While HCI delivers benefits of reduced IT complexity, the sheer volume of data and virtual machine proliferation create data protection and resiliency challenges. Veritas and Nutanix are extending their partnership to provide enterprise-class data protection and resiliency to mitigate compliance risk, simplify data protection, and reduce costs through intelligent data tiering on-premises or to the cloud. In this presentation, Peter shares some case studies of customers who are using Veritas to protect data and provide real-time application resiliency in their Nutanix environments and provides an update on the new capabilities that Veritas will be releasing for Nutanix in the near future.
