At Veritas Technologies, we maintain a companywide commitment to developing female technical talent, like User Experience Designer, Melanie Greene.

Before joining Veritas in the summer of 2017, Greene was finishing her degree in Information Technology at Pace University in New York City, where she had the opportunity to participate in the My Social Canvas design hackathon. The event is described as a “social-impact fashion technology brand on a mission to educate, inspire, and equip the next generation of high school and college girls to design the life and career they love,” with a focus on female students pursuing degrees in fashion, graphic design, technology, and business.

Greene and her teammates won the contest with the designs shown below.

“I am very honored and grateful that I got to work with incredible women in the field of design and technology on this project,” says Greene. “This was a great experience and I learned that I’d like to work at a company that values inclusion, diversity, and encourages collaboration among its employees in order to solve problems. That’s why I chose to work at Veritas. As part of the Veritas Design Team, I’m collaborating with highly-experienced professionals where I have the opportunity to learn and grow as a UX professional working on cutting edge technologies and products.”

Highlighting the value of Melanie’s presence at Veritas, Director Jeff Byron shares, “Melanie is a great example of the kind of leader we need and value at Veritas,” further noting, “She not only walks the talk as a woman in STEM, but also promotes it.”
