On August 22nd, a collection of Veritas employees from the company’s headquarters dedicated the day to Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The 24 Veritas volunteers distributed food to local families from the Sunnyvale Community Center, and in just over 3 hours the staff and Harvest Food Bank teams were able to serve 109 families.
Speaking of the volunteering experience, Veritas Director of CPO HR, Sinead Borgersen – @QueenBorg in the VOX Community – shared, “Many of us had helped at centers prior, sorting incoming deliveries, so it was very impactful to give out food to clients who depend on the resources provided by Second Harvest.”
Giving back to the community is a routine part of #LifeAtVeritas, with a range of fundraising and volunteering opportunities provided to our staff. And Veritas employees are encouraged to seek new #VCares philanthropic ventures to share with the organization, including internal incentivization programs, like our Dollars for Doers fund-matching program.
Supporting non-profits like Second Harvest and participating in programs like Dollars for Doers is a compelling part of what makes being a member of #TeamVtas so fulfilling.
