On May 9th, representatives from the Veritas University Relations Team attended an event hosted by HackerRank – a San Francisco-based organization where programmers from across the globe unite to engage relevant computer science-focused topics, seek jobs, and develop programming paradigms, like functional programming.
The leading topic of the event was the art and science of skill assessments. Attendees heard from CEO and founder of HackerRank, Vivek Ravasankar, and had the opportunity to watch a fireside chat-style presentation on hiring tech talent, with representatives from BNY Mellon, Formation, Instacart, and Salesforce.
The panel was moderated by HackerRank’s VP of Customer Success, Gaurav Verma, and offered details on recruiting technical talent and tips on doing so in a competitive, rapidly evolving market. Verma confided with attendees the current difficulty in hiring strong developers and provided guidance on remaining aware of current industry talent trends.
Opportunities to attend insightful events like this one by HackerRank are beneficial to the Veritas business, and a part of what makes #LifeAtVeritas so good.
