As a part of this collective charge, we’ve collaborated with individuals across the company’s global offices to develop a mentorship program supporting the advancement of technical women at Veritas.

In April 2018, we launched Future Women in Leadership, a six-month mentorship program focused on the continued professional development of high-performing women engineers at Veritas.

We invited seven promising engineers to join organizational leaders for an intensive five-day program pilot at Veritas’ Mountain View headquarters. Mentees received insight to important product and service developments and had the opportunity to engage the company’s subject-matter experts in a conceptual technical project that resulted in a final showcase with Veritas leadership.

Each of our FWIL mentees has been paired with mentors with a technical emphasis relative to their own and connected to program sponsors and stakeholders; we want to guarantee each FWIL has a wide range of champions at the company to help them build the circle of influence necessary to thrive professionally.

Speaking of the program, Veritas CPO, @MichaelJPalmer, expressed, "I was blown away by the technical expertise and poise that this fantastic group of engineers brought to their showcases," further noting, "They brought passion and creativity to the table and really exemplify the great engineering talent we have at Veritas."

As we proceed in the FWIL mentorship program and other company-led efforts to improve employees’ awareness of diversity issues and access to supportive Veritas resources, we hope to embolden the evolution of the technology industry; we want other organizations to see that diverse cultures, experience, perspectives, and skills make for stronger teams, engaged employees, and true innovation.
