Veritas' Beijing office hosts its first Women at Veritas Empowered TechTalk

Veritas staff attending the first TechTalk by the Beijing office Women at Veritas Empowered employee resource group.In early July, Veritas’ Beijing office hosted its first official Women at Veritas Empowered – WAVE – event inviting Ruby Rong and Xiaoming Yan to deliver a TechTalk offering insight to the company’s Future Women in Leadership mentorship program.

Ruby introduced the FWIL program to TechTalk attendees, including an outline of program’s objectives and company stakeholders, as well as a schedule of the program and highlights from its recent launch at Veritas’ Mountain View Headquarters.

Xiaoming then shared a presentation on her FWIL technical project, “Intelligent MSDP Garbage Collection,” complete with details on her machine learning model research, test data training status, and IDF.

More than 40 engineers attended the WAVE TechTalk, resulting in a lively post-presentation discussion. Beijing site leader, Henry Jia, and Appliance director, Harry Lu, joined in the event alongside several male colleagues. All attendees showed strong interest in Veritas’ WAVE and FWIL programs, and the new machine learning technology employed in Xiaoming’s FWIL project.

The duo closed with highlights from the WAVE calendar, including events and opportunities leading into the new year; a bright future lies ahead for Veritas WAVE groups across the globe. It is efforts like the Beijing WAVE kick-off and FWIL technical project presentation that make #LifeAtVeritas so compelling.
