In a strong show of support for #GivingTuesday, the Bay Area Giving at Veritas Empowered (GIVE) and Corporate Responsibility teams organized a food sorting event at Second Harvest Food Bank on Tuesday, November 27th, where over 20 Veritas employees, including CEO Greg Hughes, CHRO Sophie Ames, and EVP, Customer Success Lenny Alugas, helped the food bank by sorting and packaging over 14,500 pounds of food.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties provides food and educational programs to low-income individuals, seniors, and families with children. In FY16-17, Second Harvest provided more than 66 million pounds of food to the community (rescuing 33 million pounds of fresh food that otherwise would have been wasted), the equivalent of 55.5 million meals.
Those of us on #TeamVtas are proud to support the mission of Second Harvest Food Bank to end hunger in Silicon Valley. This is one of many examples that makes #LifeAtVeritas uniquely satisfying. #VCares
