On June 25, the Women At Veritas Empowered (WAVE) employee resource group at Veritas’ Santa Clara headquarters hosted a brown bag session to share details of this year’s TechWomen program and encourage participation among employees across the organization.
When asked about her experience as a mentor for the program, Chandra Chezhian of #TeamVtas shared, “It’s rewarding to build relationships with my mentees that go beyond the mentorship program, as they progress to the next phase of their lives.”
Fellow mentor, Ramya Mula, shared of her TechWomen mentorship experience, “From a cultural perspective, working with mentees that come from various cultural backgrounds has inadvertently taught me to value things that I had previously taken for granted.”
What is the TechWomen program?TechWomen is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs that empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. With a global reach, the program is dedicated “providing the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.”
In 2019 and beyond at Veritas—being involved in programs that inspire awareness of the importance of workplace inclusivity are just a part of what makes #LifeAtVeritas so fulfilling.
