Given my past experience with the Autism Advantage program by Expandability, I was thrilled to learn my employer, Veritas Technologies, has a background with the San Jose-based organization. Our first 2018 event with Autism Advantage begins on May 16th at Veritas’ Mountain View offices, and will continue throughout the year as we identify new opportunities to support the program.
Alongside others on Veritas’ Mountain View HR team, I’m developing professional skills courses to be shared with those who are a part of our local Autism Advantage program. The courses are designed to inspire awareness, broadly, and meet the unique needs of those with autism, providing coaching on interviewing, resume drafting, and professional interaction and presentation education.
And with our 40-hours benefit – Veritas provides each of its full-time employees the ability to volunteer for an organization of their choice for 40 paid hours, annually – I can collaborate with colleagues to host Autism Advantage, promoting the program across Veritas with the support of our leadership.
At Veritas, corporate citizenship includes philanthropy, employee activism and engagement, and a commitment to human rights, education, and driving social change. And in 2018, a part of these efforts includes partnering with Expandability for Autism Advantage.
