In January 2018, when faced with the pivotal decision of which company to join among three job offers–including from technology giants, Senior Director of Total Rewards, Ray Moore, did not hesitate to join Veritas Technologies, LLC.
In assessing the three offers, Ray found that the various proposals were equal, except for one key differentiator–Veritas’ philanthropic commitment to make the world better. With a long-held passion for giving back and paying it forward, along with his wife Julie, Ray found it exciting to be joining a company whose culture focused on volunteerism, donating, doing good, impacting change at work, in our communities, and around the world. Ray saw joining Veritas as an opportunity to take full advantage of the many corporate-organized efforts to make a lasting difference.
Every year since Ray joined Veritas, he has taken advantage of the Volunteer Time Off policy which provides five days of paid time annually to engage in volunteer activities. Ray’s nonprofit of choice is the American Cancer Society. He leveraged the Veritas Dollars-for-Doers Program, which rewards sustained volunteerism by making a $15 donation for every volunteer service hour that Ray volunteered so that the American Cancer Society could receive a monetary contribution from Veritas for his time and effort.
One more program caught Ray’s attention, the Dollar-for-Dollar Program, for which Veritas matches employee donations to nonprofit organizations up to $3,000 per employee annually.
These programs are the reasons that Ray decided to join Veritas.
No doubt that Veritas’ philanthropic culture was a gamechanger for Ray and has allowed him to embrace the change he wants to see in the world. His commitment to giving back continues to serve as inspiration to his colleagues, family, and friends.
