Hello,

Can we set a password on NetBackup 5240 appliance BIOS (like we do with standard server) ?

I guess it is feasible since it is an "enhanced" x86_64 server ...

Do any of you have any feedback ?

Waiting forward for reading from you

Yes this should be possible but as far as I know not supported by Veritas.

From the IPMI Web UI or Support CLISH menu you should be able to find the OEM (i.e. Intel) Server Board type and from that Board's documentation find details of the various possible passwords. However this could lead to problems during hardware support calls (e.g. to run system tests), system re-imaging (e.g. to change boot device) etc. So unless you get support from Veritas or are confident you understand using these passwords settings and have a reliable method of maintaining the passwords themselves, I would not advise doing so.

Thanks, Andrew
