Appliance call home failed

Can anyone advise to where and what address the call home on the Netbackup 5230 appliances goes too; it seems that the proxy that the appliance sits behind maybe blocking the call home functionality?

The test call home does work and reports back as sucessful, however over the weekend I received the following from one of my appliances: -

CALLHOME status: Not able to upload callhome data Error: 500 proxy connect
failed: PROXY ERROR HEADER, could be non-SSL URL: HTTP/1.1 504 Gateway Timeout
Proxy-Agent: IWSS Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Cache-Control:
no-cache Connection: close Date: Sat, 19 Jul 2014 10:19:33 GMT <HTML><TITLE>504
Gateway Timeout</TITLE> <H1>504 Gateway Timeout</H1> Gateway timeout expired
while waiting for server response</HTML> Please contact Symantec Support to
resolve this issue.

Node does not have any errors.

I have noted that the last line does state that no errors are present, however this does concern me that if there was an error that it may not be delivered to Symantec automatically.

Take a look at my solution in this thread for all of the details.

You can setup all of the proxy details in the web GUI of the appliance if you have not already done that

Hi Mark,

Thanks, it was you the setup the appliance last month...laugh @ PD.

Looking at the link you provided are the IP's still correct as they don't resolve using nslookup?

Call Home uses SSL, so 443 and connects to IP address 216.168.252.222 and 69.58.182.57

TheNetBackup Product Improvement Program agent uses the same port and communicates withhttps://telemetrics.symantec.com on IPaddress 216.10.195.50

LOL - why don't you and JAM1991 just drop me an e-mail!?

They have now done a call home troubleshooting doc to help .. follow that to see if it helps:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH216884

They are also using https://api.appliance.symantec.com now ... as we had the one chassis swapped out you will need to make sure it is now registered too (mysymantec - my appliances) otherwise it won't be able to register to send the data
