Check VMware SAN disk on appliance

Hi all,

Currently using Appliance 5230 as master server. Version 2.6.0.1.

May I know how to check the VMware datastore SAN disk presented to NBU appliance 5230?

If I added a new datastore disk to appliance, do I need to do a scan at appliance in order to see the device? how to do so?

thanks a lot for help!

It is best to do a scan when adding new Vmware volumes.

In the CLISH of the appliance (connected via Putty or similar so that you can scroll the full screen):

Manage > Storage > Scan

and then to check it sees everything:

Manage > Storage > Show

Hope this helps

currently I have 9 vmware datastore zoned to appliance through single-path. SAN backup are successful.

But, under CLISH, Manage > Storage > Show, I can't see any vmware disk. Only local disks are shown.

Even after a scan doesn't help.

Are the backups really using the SAN (should be shown in the text of the job details)?

I would have expected them to all be visible using the Show - as i said you do need to use Putty so that you can scroll right up otherwise they all dissapear off the top of the screen
