Does any of the Netbackup appliances support FCoE? I suppose no because it comes only with HBA cards but I need someone to confirm it.

Thanks in advance.

You are right : Not supported with the 5220. See http://www.symantec.com/docs/DOC5600

However FCOE adapter are in general supported with Netbackup - See Page 205 i the Netbackup 7.x HCL

The NetBackup Shared Storage Option (SSO) hardware support model for Storage Area Network (SAN) components is an open model. In other words, all Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNA), Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapters (HBA), switches, bridges, and routers are supported in a SAN environment. This means that if a FCoE or FC component is causing a problem, Symantec will work with the component vendor in an attempt to resolve the problem, but resolution is not guaranteed. Symantec and most hardware vendors listed are members of TSANet

Thanks Nicolai, as we suspected the appliance doesn´t support FCoE.

About the HCL, We´ve already look at it and the two brands of CNA tested are for Windows O.S. and we need our Media Servers with CNAs to work as FT Media Server so we need Solaris or Linux.

Has anyone tested it?
