Hi,

 

I am using NetBackup Appliance 5220 and trying to take a backup of free VMware ESX 4.0. But i am unable to take backup. Kindly let me know can we take free VMware backup from NetBackup ? Because what i think is this VM backup is not working due to free VMware ESX. Kindly confirm.

You do need vCenter setup to use the vShere API - do you have that?

Also if it has its datastores on local disk it can only backup via the LAN

What errors do you get?

Tell us your NetBakup version and how far you have got / what errors you get and I will try and assist further
