Hi All,
I am fairly new to the backup world and only have knowledge of providing support on the software itself.
Does anyone know the procedure to set the time on the control panel on a Symantec 5220 netbackup appliance?
Note: On linux level the time is correct, only on the physical display itself the time is incorrect.
Thanks

Is that 2 hours + or -?
Use the CLISH and check both Network> Date Show and Network> Timezone Show. Then compare those to the front panel.
Please post the output here.

How far off is the time? Are you verifying the Linux time from the CLISH or from the root prompt? What time zone is the unit in?

Hi Andrew,
the time is 2 hours off, The time was checked from root prompt.
In Linux the timezone is CEST.

Maybe in the BIOS?

HI Riaan,
would changing the time in the BIOS affect NBU itself?
Note: when I run "hwclock --show", it returns the same time as the "date" command

Hello Andrew,
I'm a co worker of WesleyT, this is the output you requested:
XXXX.Network> Date Show
name:XXXX:
Tue May 26 14:45:21 CEST 2015
XXXX.Network> TimeZone Show
name:XXXX:
Current Time Zone: Europe/Brussels
Hardware Clock Set To: UTC
Current Time and Date: Tue May 26 14:45:56 2015
We don't have physical access to the appliance at the moment, it's in the customers datacenter. We will verify if it is +2 or -2 with the customer.
