I have a Netbackup Appliance 5230 running on v.2.6.0.1 and I've not previously configured .
I'm configuring the appliance for a POC and so it's not on a network at the moment. It's the same way I upgraded it to current version.
Have followed instructions on IPMI config, set the IP in BIOS. But I can't ping it, can't connect at all.
Some guidance needed please.

No problem. Figured it out.
The information on http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO94393#v87211141 that says that 'You should not configure the Baseboard Management channel. All the Baseboard port fields must be 0.0.0.0' is wrong. This must be filled in to be able to connect to your IPMI page.
