Installing netbackup on mysql client

Hi ,

I have MYsql client running on windows 8 , i wan t to install netbackup for taking the backup of the Db , please share the procedure for taking the backup of the database.

There is no direct MySQL agent in NetBackup

There are options that may help you ...

If it is Enterprise MySQL then they claim that this can interface with NetBackup:

As it is on Windows 8 it sounds like you are not using the Enterprise Verison so inthat case you have 3 other options:

1. Use bpstart_notify.bat to shut down mysql and back it up off line

2. Use its own maintenance schedule or a script to dump its databases to disk and then back those up using NetBackup

3. Check out Zmanda - thier special agent is supported for use with NetBackup (http://www.zmanda.com)
