Hi can some one guide me theses features are available/supported in Netbackup Appliance 5230
theses feature are in "EMC-data domain"
1. Performance must not be less than 20 TB /hour (using BOOST protocol)
2. Must have ultra-safe storage for reliable recovery
Netbackup Appliance 5230 has 30 TB/hour and for BOOST protocol can we use accelerator feature of NB. and my second question is what is the alternate of "ultra-safe storage" in Netbackup appliance.

The performance should be OK - EMCs definition of ultra safe storage is:
Ultra-safe storage for fast and reliable recovery
• Data Invulnerability Architecture
• Continuous recovery verification, fault detection, and healing
• End-to-end data integrity
So in many ways yes the appliance falls into this field based on having Symantec Critical Protection and a de-dupe engine that constantly monitors itself
I believe that BOOT is now supported with Accelerator too
So i believe it is all good!
Hope this helps

Hi Mark_Solutions
client requriment:
We require 01 year online backup. This system must also be accessible for reporting (after configuring the web front end) and running SQL queries.
05 years of offline backup must be available. And we should also be able to search for something on this 05 year old backup data.
Performance must not be less than 20 TB /hour (using BOOST protocol OR an Alternate).
Must have ultra-safe storage for reliable recovery.
suggestion:
i suppose a solution NBappliance 5230 with NBAppliance 5030.
your expert opinion will be highly appreciated.

I would stick with 5230 appliances to be honest - the PureDisk component used on the 5030 appliances is being phased out so for a future proof solution i would stick with 5230's using 2 shelves each for capacity (and more may be possible in the future)
You will probably find that the 5030 appliances are designed as additions or replacements for customers already using 5020 appliances - as a new customer stick to the 5230's
Hope this helps
