Mass duplication of images from 1 pool of tapes to another

BackRestore
Level 2

Hi. I'm running a 5230 appliance that's connected to a tape library. And I need to duplicate images from approximately 700 tapes to another set of tapes (in the same environment). I know this can be done via the NB gui in the catalog section, but is there an easier way? To put it mildly, doing checking each tape to get a backupid, searching for each one individually in the catalog and duplicating them one by one seems crazy.

Thanks in advance,

Larry

You can script it.

Run bpimmedia (images on media) for each tape, extract image-id's and add them to a text file - one image-id per line.

Next, use bpduplicate with -Bidfile option to specify the text file containing image-id's.

PS:

I find a requirement to duplicate 700 tapes equally crazy....
