Hi,
I was looking within our internal sites regarding the interoperability of the FC HBA installed in our NBU 5220 Appliance but unfortunately, it keeps on directing me to the NBU 7.5 HCL. Do you have any documentation or website where I can get those information?
Thanks!

So you are wondering if the 5220 has an interoperability matrix that lists Switches and the like and not if the HBA in the 5220 can work on a specific switch.
You need to remember that even though Symantec has taken an attitude the 5220 is the 5220 and NetBackup is Netbackup and ner' the twain shall meet then 5220 is NBU7.x with a SLES 10 operating system under the hood on commodity hardware. So what you find for NBU 7.5 works for the appliance. The HBA in the 5220 is a Qlogic ISP-2532-based HBA and as such is pretty much usable with any infrastructure.
That being said this is from the SORT (http://sort.symantec.com) page for the 5220:
Infrastructure Used for Testing
What is basically being said here is "We trust that all the major manufacturers are pretty skookum when it comes to certifying gear so we will not waste our time on it but if something does appear bogus then we will work real hard to get it fixed". Which means they are not going to test and certify the whole chain thus no HCL for the 5220.
That being said though you will find every now and then they will issue an alert about drivers on the client that need to be at a certain level to prevent issues.

What type of interoperability? The 5220 to storage like in a VM ware backup?

Hi,
It is mainly the interoperability of the FC HBA to other components of the backup infrastructure like the SAN Switch, supported tape drives and the like.
Thanks!
