NBU 5230 Appliance SSL certificate error

We have this weird appliance issue - wondering if anyone else has experienced this recently (maybe due to https://symappmon.com not working?)

Appliance.png

The 5230 Appliance is on 2.5.4 - the status is perfectly green.

this happens when i try to verify the process queue - sometime i check once in a while. This issue started last Friday and the only thing I could find online about it is that the appliance communicates with https://symappmon.com to download a certificate and upload hardware info...

tried changing the proxy server the appliance uses for Call Home, no effect over 24 hours (can I force a test?)

Hello.  The issue is that you are trying to run the crcontrol command from the maintenance prompt.  In order to run the command you must "elevate".

Check out this:

The NetBackup appliance callhome test fails. Error CALLHOME status: Not able to upload callhome data...

The cause of this, from that tech note, is network device sitting between the appliance and Symantec's symappmon.com is doing transparent SSL content inspection/SSL deep packet inspection.

hi SymTerry

I saw that article and checked - it was working before and nothing was changed on our firewalls and routers here - the only thing that did change was the symantec email went out stating there' a security flaw:

http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/ssl-30-vulnerability-poodle-bug-aka-poodlebleed

Perhaps it's the other way around, and the symappmon site was patched creating such an issue?

I have check with my applaince team and the site is working. Have you opened a case with support? If not please open one to do further testing.

DFischer... simple, sounds silly, yep. It's exactly that...
