a FQDN is reqiured for the appliance 5200 .

Once FQDN is used to configure problem solved if short name is used .

I will required to edit the pd cfg file on the Netbackup media server .

When you set up the logon credentials for the PureDisk volume, did you happen to specify the Storage Server as its fully qualified name (such as appliance01.mycompany.com) instead of its short name (just appliance01)?  Is the reverse DNS lookup defined in DNS correctly?

48's are almost always some sort of DNS resolution issue.  I usually hit them when a server name has been reused or changed after it gloes live.

Most likely the client is resolving NB5200's IP to a name that is not in client's bp.conf

OR

Your appliance is not able to resolve the name vereport. Is the appliance using a DNS server that knows about the name vereport and its correct IP address?
