NDMP FC and Ethernet Transport together

Hi All,

I have an Appliance functioning as a master/media. There is an existing ndmp configuration with a Netapp device running over FC to a tape library.

I want to use the Appliance as a ndmp target backing up the same Netapp but over ethernet. Is it possible to run the both configurations simultaneously?

Thanks

Yes, however you'll be using a different method of NDMP backup, so-called three-way NDMP versus direct when tapes attached directly to the NetApp.

There was an awesome overview of NBU for NDMP published recently, have a look http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/netbackup-76-blueprints-ndmp

Yes, if you change the storage unit to use the appliance storage unit it will transfer over ETH to appliance.
