Need to scrub NetBackup arrays

We are selling our Puredisk arrays and I am wondering what the best practice is to write zeros to the disks. Would a /shred command suffice or is there another procedure to wipe these drives?

I'll repeat my suggestion from a similar thread of using VxVM shred which is faster:

I think if you're going to perform full factory reset then it is quite safe to destroy VxVM volumes. Re-imaging the appliance will re-initialise the disks from scratch. Confirm it with support just to be on the safe side.

VxVM provides tools to shred volumes securely, so to make it without leaving the Veritas realm, check these technotes:
