Netbackup 7.1.0.3 and Netbackup 5020 appliances

Hello,

We are looking to deploy Netbackup 7.1.0.3 and two Netbackup 5020 appliances with version 1.4.1.1 firmware, with optimized duplication between the appliances.

I am keen to hear about the experiences (good and bad) others have had using this configuration.

optimized duplication works very good

Hey Mate,

Optimised duplication on 5020 works well. Just make sure you configure Storage Lifecycle policies properly. Keep in mind that Symantec recommends using Storage Unit versus Storage Unit Group when duplicating the data between locations. 

Keep in mind that optimised duplication is using all available bandwidth by default. If you need to share the bandwidth with other systems/applications, you would need to modify pd.conf.
