1) Are the SAN switch ports enabled?

2) Are the SAN switch ports configured at a fixed speed, or auto-negotiate?

3) Are the SFP in the SAN switch ports of the correct type and correct wavelength and correct speed?

4) Are the A & B strands of the fibre cable orientated correctly? (sometimes some infrstructure looms have them crossed)

5) Does the SAN switch port report seeing any light at all, any signal at all?

6) Do you have a light level detector that you can plug in?

Target ports seem ok but the initiators are still LINKDOWN.

I connected the FC cable to Slot5  port 1  and Port 2.

7) Are the SAN switch ports licensed ?

8) I assume Brocade SAN switch, so can you share the output from a "portshow" and from an "sfpshow" for just one of the SAN switch ports that is connected to Appliance initiator ?  please.

9) You have "zoned" the Appliance initiator HBA port WWPN to a target WWPN, right ?

Hi @sdo

I changed the cables and ports then rebooted the appliance it is online now:

I can now proceed to ask the SAN admin to Zone it for me.
