Netbackup-Oracle limits(policy) when backing up big databases

Hi Guys,

I´ve been trying to understand how "Size of backup piece", "Size of backup set" and "Number of files per backup set"  will improve the performance of oracle Backup.

The media server is a 5340 appliance, the client is AIX 7.1 and the backup is over SAN.

we have 2 big databases which sizes are 8 TB and 14 TB.

Does anyone have experiences (good or bad) configured these parameters.?

Are you backing up to tape or backing up to MSDP?

Is the backup via RMAN? or is it a backup via Oracle Cold DB backup?
