Problems configuring a 5240 - Master server reverse access check fails

I try to configure a 5240 appliance as a media server. On the last page, "Summary of Configuration" it fails at step  "Master server reverse access check". Can somebody help and let me know what exactly the system is doing here because the master server is able to ping the appliance (media server).

But i am almost sure they are not trying to just ping...

thanks

Kai

Have you added the media server to the master's bp.conf file?

yes i did that.  I guess there is an issue with the interfaces. Our master and media have 2 NIC´s

master hostname is host01
-dns name for management nic is host01
master server and emm database name name is host01-b
-dns name for backup nic is host01-b

media hostname is host02
-dns name for management nic is host02
-dns name for backup nic is host02-b

so i put both dns names (host02 and host02-b in bp.conf of the master)

First thing I would try is running "bptestnetconn" (with no arguments) from both the Master and Media Servers and see if anything looks wrong. For an Appliance you will have to override the IPS policy per the Security Guide and elevate to root or use a NetBackupCLI user account.

Could be either server can't do a reverse lookup of itself. Andrew

so everything with bptestnetconn or bcptestbpcd was working fine. So i changed the media server name to the name of the second interface "host02-b" and bow it is working.
