2. currently in my environment NetBackup server is configured on tradition pattren OS windows 2008 server. now i want to purchase a Netbackup appliance 5230, after that i want to migrate from windows server NB catalog to OS Linux appliance. is it supported if yes then can some one share a NB catalog migration procedure.

1. Not supported - the SAS cards are for storage shelf expansion only - it may work but would not be supported
2. You can have you catalog migrated from Windows to an Appliance but need a specialist partner to do the migration for you as a professional service (not a cheap project!)

Hope this helps

Hi mnakhan,
you can check that by yourself.
Just look for IBM Redbooks for your library on google.
There you can find a support matrix.

No - sorry - you can only use fibre for tape connections on a 5230
You would need to swap out your SAS drives for fibre ones - or justy use 1 tape drive
