Spurious Alerts following Appliance Upgrade to 2.7.2

I have recently upgraded a number of 5230 Appliances to 2.7.2, and whilst all appear to be functioning as expected we are getting numerous alerts relating to disk failures which are 'false'.

I am wondering whether there is a BIOS issue here (mismatch) ?

Two questions:

1. How can I display the current BIOS level without rebooting the appliance ?

2. Is there a required BIOS update to be applied 'outside' of the regular software/firmware package used for 2.7.2 ?

Thanks,

AJ.

I have located the BIOS levels of the appliances via the following CLISH commands:

MONITOR

HARDWARE SHOWHEALTH

BIOS levels are

2 at SE5C600.86B.02.01.0002.082220131453

1 at SE5C600.86B.01.06.0002.110120121539

We are running 2.7.2 code on the appliances - is there a need to update these BIOS levels ?

Hello,

please have a look at Technote:

False alerts of missing/failed hardware components are reported after upgrading a NetBackup Appliance to versions 2.7.1 or 2.7.2.

Thanks for that - but this seems to point to fan, cpu etc. whereas mine are all disk alerts stating that disks have failed when they haven't.

I think this may be time to raise a ticket.....

Thanks,

As has already been mentioned there and EEB referenced in https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000107970 which will help wit this though if possible I would suggest upgrade to 2.7.3
