IHAC that installed two new appliances (5230). One went in with no problems. The other one would not boot because the BIOS was set wrong. That was fixed, but now the WebGUI will not show the HW status.
As a test we tared up the /opt/SYMCnbappws directory on the working appliance and untared it on the broken one. Then we could not even login. After restoring the old directory we could log in, but HW status still did not work.
Has anyone seen this before?

Which version are you running?
There was a bug in one version that was fixed in a later patch - I dont think it is on general release so may have to be requested.
It has also been seen that it does not work after a system has been setup until it has had at least one reboot
There is also a hot fix where a very large queue size causes it but I am guessing as you have only just installed it that should not be the case.
Best to get patches up to date

Both appliances are running 2.5.3. One works and one doesn't.

Have you re-booted it?
Have you had any hardware issues? It is worth checking it from the CLISH to see if hardware monitoring is working from there. A faulty HBA or similar can prevent it from displaying the information.
Reboot and also check in the CLISH and let us know what you see

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the quick replies. They have rebooted several times. They have reimaged several times, before they went into production. CLISH shows HW status. The only "HW" problem they had was in the begining when the BIOS didn't show the RAID, after that everything else worked fine, except for the WebGUI. :(

Any chance of seeing the message file and the dmesg output (both as file attachments not pasted in here please)
Thanks

Hi Mark,
Sorry for the delay, the customer was out.

P.S.
From the CLISH, Monitor --> Hardware Disk does not show all the disks.
However /opt/NBUAppliance/scripts/hwmon/scripts/DiskMrg.pl --listDisks shows the disk.
regards,
Pat

Sounds like something is missing - I would raise a Support call and get it looked at
The dmesg output is sometimes useful - it may be failing to load something on boot
Pipe it out and take a look but raise a call anyway
