Backing up VMware Vsphere 4

Hello All,

I want to backup mentioned vmware server with PD agent. Can I backup all VMs by installing the PD agent directly on Vsphere server??

If not what the alternatives to backup the vmware server??

 No, you put them in the guest OS, or use VCB, and the media server will do the processing of the VMDK's.
