Unfortunately duplication from Puredisk to MSDP is not possible.  Well not yet...

Vote for Todd Woodward's idea here and perhaps one day - maybe...

We took a strategic decision when we developed this feature that we would not allow duplication from PDDO to MSDP and we currently have no plans to implement this capability.

By now we all know that optimized duplication does not work/not supported from a PDDO to a MSDP. But what if we could disable the optimizated duplication, as would automatically happen when sending to a BasicDisk or tape drive?

We do have RESUME_ORIG_DUP_ON_OPT_DUP_FAIL flag; could it possibly be used in scenarios where optimized duplication is secondary a concern, such as moving the data off from a PDDO to a MSDP in order to decomission the PDDO? Or would we still need to stage on a BasicDisk or tape?
