Hi all, how are you guys?
I just wanna know if there is posible to have multiples deduplication paths configured from the same media server.
I mean, I have 3 luns asigned to a media server, What is the best I can do to use those 3 LUNs to deduplicate backups...?
Thanks a lot,
Best regards,

We talking Netbackup deduplication, or are you talkking Puredisk? This is the PureDisk forum, yet you mention "media server."
For PureDisk, VxVM is just going to concatenate the three volumes into one for storage available.
For NetBackup, you can only have one Deduplication storage folder, which would be limited to just one of your 3 LUNs. You could remove the LUN's on the SAN, and make a single larger one if your SAN allows for that. Or concatenate them using Storage Foundation free edition, pay for edition, or use Windows disk manager to join the volumes.

From Netbackup Deduplication Guide:
Chap 5: Configuring deduplication:
Deduplication Storage Server:
One host functions as the storage server for a deduplication node;
that host must be a NetBackup media server. The storage server
does the following:
-- Writes the data to and reads data from the disk storage.
-- Manages that storage.
The storage server also deduplicates data. Therefore, one host
both deduplicates the data and manages the storage.
Only one storage server exists for each NetBackup deduplication
node.
You can use NetBackup deduplication with one media server host
only: the media server that is configured as the deduplication
storage server.
Hope that helps.
