Recently out PureDisk had got down due to Disk was Full (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/puredisk-wont-start-no-disk-space-left)

After long troubleshooting with Support Disk was resized. But nightmare continued ... topology.ini had nothing in it. Seemed it got corrupt.

We didn't have backup of it. We have DR policy activated on PureDisk export .

Now how to bring back PureDisk  alive

please help..

got it solved by TSE...

after deeper analysis.. they found vxatd was causing issue..

synopsis:

CAUSE:
vxatd package.
topology.ini was missing.
One of the TSE followed steps & recreated the topology.ini.
but even then vxatd rpm fail to install with %post install Errors.

SOLUTION:
1) Uninstalled the VRTSat packages from the system
2) Correctly topology.ini for entries to be in the correct order
3) Reinstalled the VRTSat configuration

Hi,

By any chance do you have a copy of the PDgetlogs, you can verify the same under /tmp folder, if yes, we just need to extract the file from the zip or else it is going to be tough to get it rebuild or regenerated as it contains all the database, ldap, rootbroker passords.

Thanks and Regards,

wil check and revert you. BTW can you elaborate more in detail for syncing this topology.ini with regular one

If you have dealt with support hopefully you have the pdgetlogs file as mentioned by Sachin else you can try re-create the file

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/solution-missing-topologyini

Hopefully you have the passwords written down somewhere safe

Periodically back these files up incase they go missing or get corrupted.

Do you have a second Puredisk Server in your environment? If so do you replicate the SPAR config? If so the file will be in the SPAR folder. For me its

<servername>:/Storage/SPAR # ls -l
total 44896
-rw-r--r-- 1 ldap     ldap          101 Mar 18  2011 DB_CONFIG
-rwxrwxr-x 1 root     root        12179 May 16 00:45 VRTSatlocal.conf
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root     root     45425313 May 16 01:00 ca_dump.sql
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root     root        13614 May 16 01:00 ldap_backup
-rw-rw-rw- 1 root     root       442867 May 16 01:00 mb_dump.sql
drwxrwxrwx 2 root     root         8192 Aug 10  2011 puredisk
-rw-r----- 1 root     ldap         3652 Mar 18  2011 slapd.conf
