Multitenant IP conflicts

A service provider is building a cloud system within their premises that will host their customer’s machines. How do they deal with customers who have IP conflicts with their other customers, ie customer A and customer B have the same subnet ranges? How can this be solved with NSS and NBU?

Firstly, this question relates to NBU architecture rather than NSS.

Each customer machine will need 2 network cards, one for customer use and the other one for use by NetBackup. The IP addresses allocated to the NBU NIC is controlled by the provider.

In NSS this machine will be given a DNS name that will resolved to the allocated IP address (or instead of DNS one can enter the actual IP address)

The provider also needs to make sure that the NetBackup network cannot be used to access other customer's machines, it basically allows connection between the NBU environment and the customer machine only.

If it is a VM only environment, there is no need for network connection unless file restore needs to be supported.

If they are protecting machines on customer premises behind a NAT, then that is a problem as NBU does not work with NAT. If this is the case requires different architecture.
