NSS : About Configuring Locations

Hello.
We operate NSS in the following environment.

NetBackup 8.1.1 (Windows)  / NetBackup Self Service 8.1

We'd like to know about "Location" setting change.
Currently the following information is defined.

username <NBU-Master01>\<user01>
password 123456

In the future, there is a plan to change the password for the purpose of strengthening security.

username <NBU-Master01>\<user01>
password 123456789

In order to change the password of the user, the following operation is assumed.
1.Change password of NBU-Master01 ... 123456 -> 123456789
2.Change password setting in NSS-Web <Location>  ... 123456 -> 123456789

Is there anything to consider at this time?
for example, Is it possible to change the password during backup by NSS?

Since the connection between the NBUmaster server and the NSS-Web server is lost between "1" and "2",
we are worried about the possibility that the backup using NSS during this period can not be used.

Best Regards.

Hi,

That is the correct procedure.  Time between 1 and 2 should be kept to a minimum as during that time, the NSS web server cannot communicate with the master so any operations instigated from NSS will fail, including scheduled tasks.

The standard procedure would be to advise users to stay away from the system while the change takes place and is tested.

Regards,

Tracey
