2008 R2 client backup issues

I’ve got a few 2008 R2 domain controllers that are causing me some grief!  All the clients in question are running the 6.5.5 x64 bit client and backup to either 6.5.5 or 7 master servers.
 
Here are the messages I’m seeing on 3 of the 4 servers:
06/16/2010 20:01:06 bckpr1 dc01ns299  from client dc01ns299: WRN - can't open file: System State:\Automated System Recovery\BCD\BCD (WIN32 536935992: Unknown error)
06/16/2010 20:01:06 bckpr1 dc01ns299  from client dc01ns299: ERR - Error encountered while attempting to get additional files for System State:\
 
All 3 of these servers are physical machines (and finish with status 1s) with the 4^th being a virtual machine (which backs up with a status 0).  I’ve not found anything useful on the web at all about this, so anything could be helpful at this point!
 
I’ve setup VSS on all the clients to no avail, am using the 2008 backup selection of ALL_LOCAL_DRIVES…

Symantec was able to provide a hot fix for this, which they think will be included in 6.5.7 and 7.0.1.

Please ask the Symantec engineer for the eTrack number and to post a TechNote detailing the problem as well as the fix...

The Etrack number is 2027002.  Doesn't look like we have a TechNote out there yet.

Chris, do you know if there is a technote for this yet?  Also, do you know if this hotfix will work for NetBackup 7 on a 2008r2 client as well?  I've upgraded one of the domain controllers I have to the NB7 client and i'm seeing the same BCD error:

There's no TechNote for this issue (and surprisingly, not so many cases, actually) at this time.

7.0 EEBs were never created for this particular issue - if you think you're experiencing the same thing, you will need to raise a case with us and get it escalated.  Mention Etrack 2027002 and have bpbkar logs ready to send to your TSE.  If they can confirm the issue, there's no reason it shouldn't be quickly escalated.
