Hi,
Unable to take backup as it is getting terminated due to error 57
master server:solaris 10
veritas netbackup 6.5.2

Either NBU Client software is not installed on the client or NetBackup Client Service is not running.
If you tell us the Client OS, we can help to troubleshoot installation and how to check what is running (or not!) on the client.

hey thnx guys..i had very less time to resolve the issue hence took a reboot of server at tht moment and that helped

I would imagine that the NetBackup Client Service wasn't running as suggested by Marianne or was otherwise 'hung' & the restart cleared this.
