7.6.0.1 Client on RedHat 4-64 Bit

Not applicable

Hello,

my Masterserver is on RedHat 6.4 Netbackup version 7.6.0.1

Regarding to the compatibilty list RedHat 4 should be compatible with 7.0 and later versions.

When i'm trying to install the new client on the RH4 Host its always comming up with "Detected an attempt to install incorrect platform and/or
operating system and version client binaries"

uname -a brings "2.6.9-101.ELsmp #1 SMP Fri May 27 18:56:38 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux"

so it clearly states thats an 64 Bit OS, or am i wrong?

any suggestion would be great to update the client so that i can use accelerator function for this client.

thx

Gabriel

You should be able to install NBU 7.1 but not later. RedHat 4 is not supported in 7.5/76

See Operating System Compatibility matrix.

You are not wrong - Linux is 64bit

See : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH130456

Verify if you can find a Linux,RedHat2.6 client - Linux,2.6.18 won't work since you're kernel version is 2.6.9
