AD Granular Backup issues

ebodykid

With a recent issue of some items in AD getting deleted, we are comparing the functionality given by Netbackup vs some quest AD recovery tool... however we are having a hard time getting it working.  We have created a test AD server on a VM, and are attempting to back it up / restore it and are getting the following errors on the backup job.  I can't find anything on the web / forum with this error..

10/08/2009 13:35:30 - connected; connect time: 0:00:00
10/08/2009 13:35:59 - begin writing
10/08/2009 13:38:48 - Error bpbrm (pid=7500) from client 10.33.32.99: ERR - Unable to obtain image list. Confirm this client has access to images on server 'sunbkpsrv1' for client '10.33.32.99'
10/08/2009 13:38:48 - Error bpbrm (pid=7500) from client 10.33.32.99: ERR - Refer to the 'Configuring client privileges for granular operations' section of the documentation for more information on configuring ALTNAMES
10/08/2009 13:38:48 - Error bpbrm (pid=7500) from client 10.33.32.99: ERR - Error encountered while attempting to get additional files for System State:\
10/08/2009 13:39:16 - end writing; write time: 0:03:17
the requested operation was partially successful (1)

I am confused by this error, as it says that the client (10.33.32.99), can't access its own images on the master server.  For the sake of trying, i did add a db/altnames file with the media servers and the client name in the file as shown when using a proxy but that didnt help at all....

We are running 6.5.4 on the master / media / client, have installed the NFS tools on the media and test AD server and can sucessfully browse to what little it gets for the granular items (shows restore in BAR and when completed shows the items).

It seems to be missing all of the AD items and only seems to get the system state.

any ideas?
