Hello Experts,

We are testing AIR using DD. Replications are happening to the target DD. We can see the images on the destination DataDomain. Following is the details of the DD. We are on 7.6.0.1 and media servers are windows 2008 R2.

OS: 5.4.1.1-411752
Model: DD990
Plugin Vendor Version: 2.6.1.0-396586

Please let me know if you need more details and i'll provide them. We referred the below to configure AIR.

We have a case open with symantec too.

I need your help in identifying the issue.

Thanks,
Rupert

Silly question, is there an IMPORT SLP configured in the target domain?

yes there is an import SLP with the same name as the source SLP. We even tried the option from the SLP parameter SLP.AUTO_CREATE_IMPORT_SLP = 1 (default) but it didnt work.

We see the images replicated to the target DD are not SLP managed.

One more thing, did you configure replication in the DD. As far i recall you should not do that. That's maybe why you see the images but they dont get imported. Basically DD should only replicate if told to. I might be off topic, can check with my colleague in emc team.

Have you checked the DD Plugin version on both NBU servers ( Source and target ) ? I had a same issue where the DD plugin version wa lower the 2.6 on target NBU server.

Did you do:

ddboost association create <local-storage-unit> {replicate-to|replicate-from}
                <remote-hostname> <remote-storage-unit>
                                       Create a storage unit association
between the specified storage unit and
the target Data Domain system and
                                       target storage unit

On both sides of the Data Domain? This is the only replication context that needs to be setup.
