Hello All,

1)/usr/openv/netbackup/client/ is the location for all types of client binaries resides location. We can't install/push the binaries from this location?

If Yes, Let me know the command.

2)I found /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client_files  command to push the binaries from master server in different ways(ftp, ssh, rsh).

There are two ways to push the client binaries from master server?

3)how to save the client binaries in /usr/openv/netbackup/client/ location on master server.

Correct.

Bear in mind that the above will install unpatched base version of the software.

If you want to patch the client software, you need to download the relevant Unix Client patch and install on the master (along with Server patch).

If master was previously patched, install client patch with '-p' option to force-install/

Thanks Marianne,

Here my last question is.

1)Please confirm the below.

Below command is used to install solaries master server to push Linux client server s/w to client.

/usr/openv/netbackup/client/Linux/RedHat2.6/install_client

Below command is used to install client s/w from only unix master server to unix client(using ssh method)?

/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/install_client_files ssh <clientname>

Please correct the command if am worng.

That is the correct command for ssh method.

Please remember to first create or add client to a policy on the master server.
This is how NBU will know which software to push to <clientname>.

No this command is not right. Where did you find it?

To install Linux client software on Solaris master, you need to copy or mount Unix Clients install media on the Solaris master, then use ./install script.

See “Installing client type software on a master server” on page 54 of manual posted above.

Extract:

To install client type software on a master server
1 Log in to the server as root.
2 Use one of the following methods to start the installation script:

DVD:
■ Insert the NetBackup UNIX Clients DVD into the drive.
See “About the NetBackup media kit” on page 17.
■ If necessary, mount the DVD.
See “About mounting the NetBackup software media” on page 41.
■ Enter the following command:
cd_directory/install
The cd_directory is the path to the directory where you can access the DVD.

ESD images (downloaded files):
■ Navigate to the location where the installation images reside.
■ Enter the following command:
./install
