About the Frequency specified in the NetBackup backup schedule

In the description of the frequency manual, it is written as follows.

"Use the Frequency attribute to specify how much time must elapse between the successful completion of a scheduled task and the next attempt."
Frequency (schedule attribute)

However, as far as I can see the actual job movement, it doesn't seem to work this way.
The job attempts to run the next job after the specified time has elapsed since the previous start time.

Also, if it specify a time that is divisible by 24 hours, the job will try to run from the backup window start time after midnight the next day, regardless of the previous start time.

Re: About the Frequency specified in the NetBackup backup schedule

Hi,

Can you please confirm , whether below backups are completed in first attempt as per schedule or it has been restarted after failed ?

As line itself says that ,

"Use the Frequency attribute to specify how much time must elapse between the successful completion of a scheduled task and the next attempt."
Frequency (schedule attribute)

Sometimes , if we restart the backup manually then it will re-calucalte the time window for next schedule.

@hiromasa_y2g

"Successful completion" here does not refer to the completion time. Simply the fact that backup has completed successfully.
The datestamp of an image is the backup start time. This is the date/time that is used to calculate the frequency.

I have shared an excellent article about Frequency Scheduling over here:

Thank you @Marianne .

Thank you for your reply.

However, I'm curious that the frequency type appears to behave the same as the calendar type only when the number of days is specified.
