Accelerator for a VMWare Backup Policy with AIR

Hello Experts,

I am using NBU 7.7.3.
I have a VMWare policy querying a cluster for an annotation to backup some clients.
This policy has 4 schedules. Each Schedule has override policy storage selection checked with a corresponding AIR (Automated Image Replication) SLP's as the selection.
The Storage selected in the SLP is an EMC DataDomain Storage unit (Using OST Plugin) setup as a Source for AIR.
Attached some screenshots.
With this setup, Should the 'Use Accelarator' Option be available for selection on the policy? Is it possible that the OST DataDomain Storage Unit doesn't support Accelerator?

Does it work if you remove the Storage Unit override?

Do you have any other Storage Units that does support Accelerator?

 

That option in the policy comes down to:

1. Do you have the correct license

2. Do you have a support storage unit

If I'm not mistaken, DD support VMware Acellerator as from some 2.x plugin version.

If you have upgraded from previous NBU version, be sure that you install the latest NBU license. Especially when you are using separate Data Protection Optimization license.

I remember something similar a year or so ago, but my Google skill are letting me down today....

Older version of the data domain OS required "virtual synthetic" to be enabled before Netbackup Accelerator would work.

Please consult page 27 in the document below to see if virtual synthetic is enabled on the data domain:

I have the enterprise license installed.

Another STU on the same datadomain outside of AIR configuration works.

Hello,

please verify via Help\License Keys that Accelerator is a licensed feature in you domain. My guess is that it must be licensing issue. Parameters like DD versions/flags are low-level parameters which are not evaluated during policy creation.

Also AIR cannot be the cause. Replication mechanism does not depend on how the backup is created (if with or without Acceklerator).

All - I got this fixed.

There were 2 Issues.
1 - Feature to be enabled. Requested another key from Veritas which enabled that Feature.
2 - The DP wont still show up the correct flag. I used the nbdevconfig command to manually set the flag.
