I'm running 7.6.1.2, I'm looking at the Accelerator for SQL. How does this work, now I am using an agent to backup the databases, how would it be different with Accelerator?
thanks

Please refer admin guide... Accelerator supports only MS-Windows and Standard policy type

Hello,
if it is a VMware machine, you can use VMware policy with Use Accelerator and Enable MS SQL Recovery options.
So actually, it is not an "Accelerator for SQL", it is Accelerator for VMs hosting MS SQL instances.
From performance point of view, your backups will be likely much faster with this config.
From backup policy point of view, you will be able to performs just point-in-backup full restores of SQL databases, not point-in-time restores or partial restores which you can achieve with traditional agent.
For more detail, refer to NetBackup/MS SQL documentation.

As mentioned above, there is no accelerator for SQL. Only Vmware, file systems (standard/windows) and NDMP (netapp on 7.7.1)
