Hi All,
I have veritas netbackup 7.5 installed on my solaris box.
I'm able to launch the java console, but when i tried to launch Activity monitor its keep on loading and i cant see the active/inactive jobs.
This problem is resolving when i stop/start the netbackup.
How to resolve this issue Without restarting the NB?
Your response is much appreciated.

I personally prefer Java Console to manage Unix/Linux master servers (no need for SERVER entries, no need for reverse name lookup in all directions).
We have seen various issues with Xming on this forum. So, my recommendation is to install Windows Java Console on your desktop.
Use your NBU 7.5 Windows Installation Media (dvd or download from FileConnect).
Navigate to Addons\x??\JavaInstallFiles - install using setup.exe
Java patch can be downloaded from here:

just what to check if you have applied maintance pack 7.5.0.4.
if not please go ahead and upgrade to 7.5.0.4 first, and see if its still persists..

The java console for 7.5.0.4 is a separate download/install.

Where exactly are you running Java Console from?
I have Windows Java Console 7.5.0.4 installed on my Windows 7 laptop - all working fine.
Maybe try to increase Min and Max memory settings in nbj.conf?

I'm running from my laptop using xming software to launch the java console.
Please find the attached screenshot.
could you please provide me the link to download java console 7.5.0.4 for windows?
I'm totally new to netbackup and i know only few things.
And also find the current values in nbj.conf
INITIAL_MEMORY=36M
MAX_MEMORY=2048M
MEM_USE_WARNING=80

You may find it easier to use the Windows Remote Administration Console
On your Windows installation media run Browser.exe, select Installation and then Server Installation.
The only button available without a License Key is the Remote Admin Console
Remember to patch to the same version as you Master once installed
You also need to add your PC name to the Additional Servers list under the Master Servers Host properties and may need to re-start the NetBackup services on the Master to regster the setting
Very nice and easy to use
Hope this helps

HI,
For working on NBC with remote desktop we need to open PBX port.
Map your laptop with Master server via PBX port (1556).
Hope this will work.
Mark@ Please suggest something about PBX port more i don't know.
Thanks.

Have you followed any of the recommendations above, such as PBX port 1556 opened in both directions?
Or installation of 7.5.0.4?
Or did it just magically fix itself???

probably followed my advice and installed java 7.5.0.4 :)

Hi Marianne,
Issue was resolved after i restart the netbackup.
After that its running fine, if the problem persist i will definitely install Windows Java console and check.
